2016/2017 has seen Laura achieve recognition both as a songwriter and performer with recent appearances at the Tamworth Opry, Maton Showcase, and  Pure Country  Spectacular, as well as being part of the Lee Kernaghan 's  2017 Boys From The Bush 25th Aniversary Tour. 

 

At just 19 years of age, Laura is a Battle of the Bands Winner, a graduate of the Senior Academy of Country Music and released her self-titled debut EP in January 2016.  

The EP was produced by Simon Johnston and features her song  ‘Pearl’  co-written with Brianna Lee. Pearl was played on  Triple J’s Sarah Howells -Roots N All, and reached number 15 on the unearthed charts as well as being placed 4th in the Australian Songwriters Association 2016 Folk song of the year.

Laura also gained recognition for her heart warming song 'Growing Up' with a top Ten Finalist placing in the 2017 Tamworth Song Writers Association Bush Ballad of the Year. 

 

Laura’s singing style is influenced by Casey Chambers, Fanny Lumsden, Cam and First Aid Kit, her original songs are an honest reflection of her experiences growing up and living on the land. 

 

 

Laura Byrnes is one of Australian music’s exciting emerging singer-songwriters,  performing songs about her family and life on the land in Northern Victoria.

Laura is a storyteller who's unique sound blends Folk,

Country and Americana, mixing the energy of both modern and traditional sounds with meaningful lyrics, and harmonies.
